Center For Black Economic Development

Mission
CBED is an organization whose sole purpose is to fight poverty and hopelessness in the black community, through economic empowerment. On the surface, this deep-rooted and complex problem may seem daunting and solution elusive. It is our contention that the stronghold of economic oppression and hopelessness can be broken through education, community re-investment, and the establishment of strong black-owned financial institutions and businesses.
Programs
This organization was birthed out of a desire to see the black community prosper. The question we looked to answer while developing our programs was: how can we help our people create wealth while building stronger more economically viable communities? In examining this question, we found one of the largest roadblocks to prosperity to be a lack of wealth building knowledge and access to capital. If we can provide that knowledge and bridge the gap in access to capital, we can equip our people with the tools needed to build new businesses and wealth.
We believe that the programs we have developed will help tackle this issue head on in a practical and intentional way. This will help us eliminate the seemingly endless cycle of poverty and hopelessness that has permeated the psyche and condition of the black community for far to long. It is time to start teaching sound financial principals and equipping our community with the education and access to capital necessary to build wealth and rebuild our communities, and it is our intention to be at the forefront of this shifting paradigm.
